In response to the accusations surrounding a viral video that allegedly depicts the assault of a female employee, which allegedly happened in the boutique located at Ultimate Plaza, Broad Street, opposite Tantalizers, Lagos Island, and caused widespread outrage on social media, Onu refuted this in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday.
Onu conveyed his profound sadness over the incident, stressing that he was not informed of the tragic occurrence and that, because he was in the East for a crucial program, he never gave anyone permission to punish them in any way. The statement claims, “I want to make it clear that I was not there when the incident happened, that I never gave anyone permission to punish the girl in question for any reason, and that I was unaware of it until the viral video was shown to me.”
However, as it goes against my company’s core principles and business ethics, allow me to sincerely apologize to the public on behalf of Don Maseratte Boutique for the tragic incident. Let me also use this opportunity to deny the untrue charges that the victim was stripped; nothing of the sort occurred; they were merely made in order to deceive the public by presenting inaccurate information.
Even yet, we sincerely regret the incident, and I personally denounce the act as a flagrant breach of human rights and a departure from my organization’s principles. Any kind of violence or mistreatment is not tolerated by our company. In addition to promising complete cooperation with law enforcement, the boutique owner gave the public the assurance that anyone responsible for the act will face punishment. “I promise everyone that those who committed this act will be found and held accountable. To make sure justice is done, we are collaborating closely with the authorities.
Renowned for its longstanding position in Lagos, Don Maseratte Classic Boutique has reaffirmed its dedication to moral behavior and respect for human dignity. Onu asked people to refrain from disseminating unsubstantiated rumors and to give the current probe time to finish.
