Speaking with INNONEWS in Owerri, Okafor expressed confidence in Chelle’s ability to succeed in the role, despite initial skepticism from some quarters.

“Immediately after his appointment, I saw a lot of comments condemning the NFF’s decision, but many didn’t bother to look at his track record,”

“With not much expectation, he may just be the man for the job.” Okafor said

He said Chelle’s coaching with Mali is outstanding, boasting an impressive 63.64% win rate from 22 matches, with 14 wins, five draws, and only three losses.

“I believe his success could translate to the Super Eagles, especially with Nigeria’s World Cup ambitions on the horizon”

Okafor defended the NFF’s decision, emphasizing Chelle’s capabilities.

“It is unfair that in Africa we don’t believe in our own. This is a man who almost got Mali to the semi-finals of AFCON, narrowly losing to Ivory Coast after 120 minutes.

“He even defeated Nigeria 2-0 during a friendly game. Something in me tells me he may just be the ‘Messiah’ that we crave.”

“With a solid track record and growing support, Chelle’s appointment could mark the start of a new era for Nigerian football” Okafor concludedCONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
