A pastor and his wife were kidnapped by suspected kidnappers during a prayer session on a remote mountain in the state, but they have since been rescued, according to the Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command. The pair had been to the remote area for prayers when the tragedy happened, the police said on its X account on Tuesday. Police have reassured locals that measures are being made to catch the criminals, but specifics of the rescue operation are still unknown. Other suspects were paraded by the police in the interim.
The public was also advised by the police to stay away from remote areas because of security concerns.
