It has been alleged that a 15-year-old girl in Agbarho Community, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, sold her 7-year-old brother out to a guy. When she was physically coerced into making a confession by community members on Friday morning, the incident was made public. The suspect said, “I give them my account number,” after selling her brother to a Hausa guy in Agbarhor. They tell me that before they begin searching for the child, they will transfer the funds to my account. Anthony Oboroh, the previous Chairman of Ethiopia-East Local, stepped in and phoned the police to arrest the suspects who reportedly purchased the child, saving the suspect, who is a twin, from being set on fire.
In order to save the parents from losing two children, he pleaded with the irate mob that apprehended the girl to leave her alone. According to reports, the seven-year-old youngster is still unaccounted for as of this writing. The children’s mother and father refused to communicate with our journalist.
