JUST IN: Kano reopens a training facility for clothing makers

The Commissioner for Commerce, Shehu Sagagi, led a visit to the centre and highlighted the state government’s commitment to restoring trade training facilities across the state.

In a press statement issued by Jamilu Yakasai, the Gezawa zonal information officer, Sagagi outlined plans to repair the sewing machines at the centre and ensure the facility is properly equipped to provide local youths with practical skills for self-reliance.

“This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to enhance skill development centres established during the administration of Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,” Sagagi said.

He further directed the Community Reorientation Committee to begin identifying youths interested in learning trades ahead of the centre’s formal reopening

Council Chairman Mukaddas Jogana emphasised that the rehabilitation of the training centre would significantly contribute to addressing youth unemployment in the region.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
