Musa was responding to a court ruling that classified Lakurawa as a terrorist group. had stated that the Lakurawa sect and other similar groups were banned from all areas of Nigeria by the Federal High Court in Abuja. In a decision on the ex-parte filed by the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Justice Minister Mr. Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, Justice James Omotosho deemed the group to be a terrorist organization.
“The Nigerian troops now have the legal backing to eliminate Lakurawa members,” Musa reacted. “It makes a lot of difference and it means we can go after them with full force,” the CDS stated during an appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today. Since the Lakurawa sect has been declared a terrorist organization, there is legal support for their active eradication. Any member of Lakurawa who is sighted at this time is effectively dead.
Additionally, the defense chief charged that Boko Haram was exploiting people as shields. It’s a lot, this Boko Haram thing. They realize we follow international law, but they don’t.
