Speaking to a congregation, Pastor Adeboye recalled the events leading up to the loss. “On a Sunday evening, my son called me,” he began. “He said, ‘Daddy, the weekend program was extremely successful. Glory be to God! Thank you for your prayer support.’” Just two days later, on Tuesday night, he received the devastating news that his son had passed away unexpectedly.
Despite his grief, Pastor Adeboye was faced with the responsibility of delivering a sermon on Friday. In a powerful demonstration of faith, he chose to fulfill his pastoral duty, leaning on God for strength. “My faith was deeply tested,” he said, “but I knew I had to preach. God remains faithful, even in the most painful moments.”
According to him, “In the darkest moment of my life since becoming a Christian—when I lost my son without notice—my faith was deeply tested. On a Sunday evening, my son called me.
