The commissioner claimed that an attack planned by the accused, who allegedly carried four switches and detonating pads, was successfully thwarted by the Rivers Police Command.”Security agencies in Rivers State have prevented several crimes over the past week,” he stated.
Among these was an effort to damage a pipeline, which resulted in the vandals’ death when they attempted to blow it up. The attack was halted on March 16, 2025, by the prompt action of security personnel. He added that eight individuals were taken into custody after police conducted a raid on a kidnapers’ lair in the state. The operation, which occurred on March 21, 2025, at approximately 7.01.am along the Omoku Road in Ahoada East, resulted in the rescue of six abducted victims.
