Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been encouraged to release all of the funds owed to the Rivers State House of Assembly, which is led by Martins Amaewhule, by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike on Public Communications and Social Media.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
Olayinka stated in a statement on Sunday that Governor Fubara does not have to meet with members of the House of Assembly because he has been delaying paying their wages and benefits for months.
The secretary to the Rivers State Government, Tammy Danagogo, wrote to Governor Fubara requesting a meeting with the Rivers State House of Assembly, which is led by Martins Amaewhule. A meeting to discuss a number of matters, including the payment of their salaries and wages, is scheduled for Monday, March 10, 2025, according to the letter sent to the pro-Wike Rivers Assembly.
In response to the scheduled meeting, Wike’s aide stated that Fubara lacked the authority to call the MPs. He maintained that since he no longer had the ability to negotiate, the governor should simply pay their entitlements. “Fubara doesn’t actually need to meet with members of the House of Assembly to pay their salaries and benefits, which he declined to do.
“He should just pay the Assembly members by releasing the funds to the proper entity. “You give up all negotiation rights to your conqueror when you lose a war. “You fought someone and denied him all of his rights for more than a year. “The man won the case, and the judge ordered you to reimburse him for all the rights you took away from him.”Now you’re inviting the dude to your bedroom to meet up.
