Nigerian footballer Ahmed Musa, a well-known figure with 108 caps for the Super Eagles has shared his grief on X on March 29, 2025 concerning the incident.
In his post, Musa wrote, “My heart is heavy. How did we lose our sense of humanity? Innocent travelers were hijacked and killed in Edo State.”
He stressed that this tragedy is not about tribe or religion but about human lives. “Every life matters,” Musa added urging Nigerians to show compassion and stop such evil acts from becoming normal.
He prayed for the victims’ souls and strength for their families using hashtags like #EveryLifeMatters and #HumanityFirst to spread his message.
The incident has sparked outrage across Nigeria. National leaders including President Tinubu and Governor Monday Okpebholo condemned the killings and ordered a full investigation.
Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Kwankwaso also called for justice emphasizing that no one should face such violence while traveling.
However, some Nigerians criticized Musa pointing to past incidents like the killing of Deborah in the north accusing him of selective outrage.
