President Bola Tinubu has increased his prospects of receiving votes from the South-East in 2027, according to Osita Okechukwu, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress, or APC, on Sunday.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
According to Okechukwu, Tinubu would have increased his chances of winning the South-East’s support in the upcoming election if he had kept his pledges to attract investors to the area. Tinubu visited Enugu State on Saturday, marking the start of his first formal working tour to the South-East. He put projects started by Peter Mbah, the state governor, into action while he was there.
The 19-kilometer Airport-New Haven-Bisalla and Okpara Square highways, 60 finished type 2 primary health centers, and 30 smart green schools are among the projects that have been put into service. The President stated during a meeting with South-East stakeholders that the elimination of the gasoline subsidy was essential to the development of the country and safeguarding the interests of coming generations. Additionally, the president promised that his administration will encourage the Anambra Basin’s development as a major energy reserve.
Up to 30 billion cubic feet of gas and 1 billion barrels of oil are thought to be contained inside the basin. According to a statement released by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu stated: “It is a work in progress.” Some of these important issues were passed down to me, and I’m determined to find solutions.
“With the assistance of the gas infrastructure.” Yes, gas can be used instead of gasoline. It is better to devote more time in it than to waste it. Together, we will accomplish this, and I am fortunate to have capable governors. “President Bola Tinubu has firmly committed his administration to finishing the Eastern Rail project that will connect Maiduguri and Port Harcourt. Additionally, the president promised that his administration will help the Anambra Basin become a major energy deposit. In response, Okechukwu praised Tinubu for taking a break from his hectic schedule to travel to Enugu State, the South-East geopolitical zone’s capital and the state where he received the fewest votes in the 2023 presidential election.
The former Voice of Nigeria, VON, Director General, stated in a statement he signed that his praise is based on three points: “First, the state visit gave Mr. President the excellent chance to evaluate the regrettable infrastructural shortfall in the South-East geopolitical zone. Second, it required Mr. President to communicate with our zone’s leadership.
