In a post on his official X account, Onanuga dismissed the claim as false, describing it as the work of mischief-makers spreading unfounded reports. He reassured the public that Wike was in good health and actively carrying out his official duties.
“Here is Nyesom Wike, the Minister of FCT, reported by some online idiots to have suffered a stroke and flown abroad,” Onanuga wrote. His statement was accompanied by recent images of Wike, aimed at debunking the misinformation.

The rumor had sparked concerns among Nigerians, with many questioning its authenticity. While some social media users expressed skepticism, others had speculated on the implications of Wike’s alleged health condition for the administration.
