For the alleged murder of Salome Adaidu, a 24-year-old corps member, Timileyin Ajayi, 32, has been placed under remand in the custody of the Nasarawa State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia, the state capital. After dismembering Adaidu’s body, Ajayi was detained on Sunday, January 12, while trying to dispose of her severed head. He was then displayed before the headquarters of the Nasarawa State Police Command with the machetes and knife that were reportedly used in the crime.
In an exclusive interview with Channels Television, Ajayi, who was clearly hurt in a mob fight before being arrested, acknowledged the murder, saying it was an impulsive act motivated by envy. We don’t always have each other, therefore I killed her; it wasn’t something I had planned. That day it occurred, and it happened. She was cheating, thus I don’t have the plan in mind.
She usually keeps the majority of stuff from me. I learned about it from her phone. I made the decision because I noticed she was talking to other males on the phone,” he claimed. “I don’t have any regrets because life is reciprocal, that’s what I thought,” he said in response to the question of whether he regretted his conduct. You have to return the favor if you must do something to someone.
“In order to truly get oneself in that person’s shoes, you must comprehend what they are going through. I don’t regret anything because we were genuinely compatible. Adaidu’s relatives denied knowing that she and the suspect had a relationship.
Esther Adaidu, her older sister, stated, “We don’t know this so-called Timi guy.” Before we were summoned to inform us that this man had killed and dismembered our sister, we had never laid eyes on him. “This guy sitting over there is the one who killed my sister, and he confirmed it to me, so I demand and need justice to be served to him.” The family’s stance was expressed by her uncle, Samson Adaji Adaidu, who detailed the horrific facts of the incident. He stated, “The family’s position is that we found out about this through the Nigerian Police and we are expecting justice from the police.”
“He has succeeded in destroying our daughter, not ordinary killing, he butchered her into pieces,” he said, recounting the heartbreaking event. When you consider the entire affair, he is preparing that body for food since he sliced it into over fifty pieces and placed them in roughly six polythene bags.” SP Ramhan Nansel, the Nasarawa State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, gave everyone his word that justice will be done.
“The investigation is ongoing, and once it is finished, he will be arraigned in court for prosecution,” he stated. I want to reassure the public and the suspect’s family that they won’t be spared if they are proven to be lacking.He will face charges and face prosecution in court. The public is being urged to come forward with any concerns they may have about the suspect, and they will be examined and investigated.
