Our correspondent was informed of the event on Tuesday by a family source who spoke on condition of anonymity. “An undisclosed amount of ransom was paid, but she was not released,” the source claimed. Eventually, her body was discovered beside the road. “Her body was found near Ideani Junction along the Nnobi-Alor Road in Idemili South Local Government Area,” the source added.
The kidnappers killed her even after she paid the ransom. She is thought to have recognized the kidnappers, which may be why they chose to kill her in order to hide her identity. This awful news has crushed the family. SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, verified the event and said the victim’s body had been found when contacted.
“The command was notified about a female corpse discovered along the Nnobi-Alor Road, which was purportedly left there by suspected kidnappers,” Ikenga stated. The photos have been escalated for further examination, and the body has been removed. The circumstances surrounding her death are still being investigated.
In the meantime, the Anambra State Police Command invited the victims to come forward for a debriefing in order to facilitate additional investigations, following the release of two Catholic nuns and another kidnapped victim. Ikenga emphasized in a news release on Tuesday the command’s dedication to working with victims to guarantee successful action against criminal activity. In order to prevent criminals from operating there and to make the state’s inhabitants feel safer, the Anambra State Police Command is prepared to collaborate with abduction victims, he stated.
Following the reported escape of Mr. Onyebuchi Okocha, also known as Onyeze Jesus, from a criminal hideout and the release of the two Reverend Sisters who were kidnapped along Ufuma Road, Orumba North Local Government, “the command assures the public of enhanced security dominance and surveillance operations aimed at deterring criminal activities and ensuring public safety across the state.”
