CITYNOBS gathered that the suspect lured the teenager into a nearby bush behind the “Carry Go” area of the community and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
Confirming his arrest to CITYNOBS on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said the incident occurred on Thursday at about 4 pm.
Odutola noted that a member of the state community Social Orientation and Safety Corps helped identify the suspect, visited the survivor’s mother, and informed her of the incident.
She noted that detectives from the Ilupeju Division arrested the suspect and rushed the survivor to the hospital for medical attention.
The police spokesperson revealed that preliminary investigation had commenced, and the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further action.
Odutola said, “Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had allegedly lured the victim to the isolated area before carrying out the heinous act.
“Officers from the Juvenile Welfare Centre visited the scene of the crime to gather evidence, with the case now under thorough investigation.
“The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further action,” she added.
