Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, identified the suspects as Khalid Hussain, 20, also known as Baffa, of Dorayi Quarters, and Khadija Hassan, 18, of Charanchi Quarters. The duo is currently detained at the Anti-Daba (Anti-Thuggery) department of the command.
The lecturer, Aliyu Hamza Abdullahi, had filed a complaint with the police after the incident. Khadija allegedly orchestrated the attack, blaming the lecturer for preventing her from transferring to her desired department due to inadequate grades.
In a fit of anger, she reportedly called her fiancé, who allegedly stormed the lecturer’s office with a cutlass and struck him on the head.
The institution’s Public Relations Officer, Auwal Isma’ila Bagwai, confirmed the incident in a statement, praising the prompt intervention of students and staff that prevented the attack from escalating further.
SP Kiyawa assured that the suspects would be prosecuted, emphasizing the need to maintain order and safety in academic institutions. Meanwhile, the lecturer is said to be recovering from his injuries, as investigations continue.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
