When Uzodimma met with political leaders from the Imo East Senatorial district, also known as the Owerri Zone, on Tuesday at Government House in Owerri under the auspices of the Owerri Harmony project, he provided the suggestion.
Despite being poisoned, the governor reminded his guests that he still had three years left to serve as their governor. Allowing him to finish his term in peace is crucial, the former senator emphasized, saying it was risky to overheat the political climate.
“I will not solve all the problems in Imo,” he declared. The man who comes after me should be able to perform some, but I will only do the ones I can. We’ll back merit. We need a man with courage, so we have to seek for credentials. “You witnessed the uneasiness that met my arrival. You know, we survived it by God’s grace, so we need a man who is bold, courageous, and dedicated.
“I pray that the individual who will succeed me will be like that. The individual who, even if they may not cause trouble, must fight when it is called for. “You will soon be approached by outside parties who will convince you that you are the most qualified candidate for governor and may even provide incentives.
However, they will desert you following the elections. We need to distinguish between individual aspirations and group interests. Since I still have three years left in government, I won’t be talking politics right now unless you want to poison me here, of course! First, let’s raise awareness, confer, make amends, and come together.
