In an audio confession obtained by Kunle Akinrinade, Head of Investigation, Taiwo outlined how they orchestrated the abduction and killing of their latest victim, Darasimi. He also described his arrest while attempting to sell the victim’s head for N100,000.
According to The Nigerian Tribune, Taiwo and Kehinde Yemitan, both 47, have shocked their community, as twins are traditionally considered symbols of blessing and good fortune in Yoruba culture. Instead, these brothers have brought disgrace, leading a criminal syndicate involved in kidnapping, murder, and the dismemberment of victims whose body parts were sold for rituals and magical wealth-attracting soaps.
In addition to their heinous acts, the twins also worked as carpenters and herbalists. Their most recent victim, Darasimi, was lured to their hideout in the Premier area of Abeokuta under false pretenses, where they killed and mutilated her body to sell the parts for ritualistic purposes.
The Ogun State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, apprehended Taiwo and an accomplice named Kazeem on December 22, 2024. However, Kehinde evaded capture and remains at large. According to police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, the brothers had deceived Darasimi, a sex worker, into visiting their home, where they carried out the crime.
During his confession, Taiwo revealed the financial incentives driving their barbaric acts. “We sell regular body parts for N20,000, hands or limbs for N50,000, and a leg for N50,000, while the heart goes for N100,000.
