In a recent statement, Wike reflected on the February 25th election, emphasizing his commitment to fairness, equity, and justice.
He said, “I remain unchallenged by the last election. I owe nobody any apologies at all. One of the apostles of power rotation, I argued that the South must have its turn after the North had ruled for eight years.”
Wike, who had been a vocal advocate for the Southern presidency, maintained that his position was driven by a desire for equity, fairness, and justice within the Nigerian political system. “Whether you voted for Labour or any other party, I have no problem with you. This is about the principle we all agreed upon,” he added.
